Apple promises it’s still serious about desktop PCs

Should you thought that desktop computers had fallen through the wayside at Apple, then reconsider, because Tim Cook has voiced out regarding his firm’s plans to complete more with PCs in the actual ‘pro’ market.

In a Q&A from Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, the CEO said the organization hasn’t forgotten about its professional customers (as in opposition to consumers), and as MacRumors reviews, Cook stated: “You will see us do more within the pro area. The pro area is essential to us. The creative area is essential to us in particular. ”

The comment is actually a general one, but was meant to placate people who aren’t impressed with the possible lack of action in terms of the refreshed Mac Pro or certainly iMac. New models for these computers have been quite a long time coming, particularly the former (the last version from the Mac Pro was unleashed at the conclusion of 2013, four years back now).

So it’s hardly surprising creative pro types are becoming impatient.

Cook hinted that points are happening behind the moments, and that Apple still locations great importance on developing its selection of computers, adding: “Don't think something we've done or something which we're doing that isn't visible yet is really a signal that our priorities tend to be elsewhere. ”

Apple will reportedly be doubling in the RAM (to 32GB) on these types of laptops and adding Kaby Lake processors by having an overhaul later this year. The grapevine also insists which new iMacs are due at some time in 2017, perhaps sooner instead of later.

Cook was also questioned concerning the possibility of a touchscreen Macintosh, and restated Apple’s previous position this isn’t something which is about the cards.

The CEO confirmed that moving forward, the iPad and Mac will stay distinct and separate entities, stating: “Expect us to do increasingly more where people will view it [the iPad] like a laptop replacement, but not a Mac alternative – the Mac does a lot more. To merge these worlds, you'd lose the simplicity of 1, and the power of another. ”.
